Moab damage report...

The last two nights I've had a terrible time sleeping due to the pain in my chest. My better judgement (Jenny) convinced me to go to a doctor. Today he told me that I either had a bruised or broken rib, but the result was the same so he didn't even bother to xray.

I thought about coming up with a worthy story about how this happened with wolves chasing me down the 20' drops, but most people reading this probably were on the trip anyway! Ok, it was a stupid endo at the very start of Porcupine, before we even got to the snowy section! James and John H and Dan were right behind me and can vouch for the utter lack of drama. Dang.

So the damage last year was to my bike (busted bushings). This year was multiple bruises and the rib. All in all, not a bad run. If you're going to get banged up, what better place than Moab?

Lucky...

I lucked out this year, but know exactly what you're referring too as I did the same thing to my ribs last year on the lower porcupine single-track. It hurt to breathe deep and was really painful if I coughed or sneezed. Had to sleep on only my right side for several weeks.

This year my bike and body both lucked out with barely a scrape of evidence I was even in Utah. It was a good trip. Hope you heal quick.

Bring out the big guns!

Last night I had a Norco -- best sleep I've had in a while! So the days will still be painful, but now I'm set for getting some quality rest.
