Treasure Valley Omnium
Bummer the Omnium got placed over it this year. Even if we don't do the full Omnium, they're allowing signing up for separate races this year for those that don't want the Sunday crit.
So it boils down to 50 mile race for $40, or 62 mile non-race (ya right, it's a race) for $35 +free socks. Hmm... decisions...
Cycle for Indenpendence.
I will probably do that fun ride. It is a real fun course. It is fully supported and if you decide you have enough of the pain you can hold back and just ride with your friend. Plus you can't beat the free socks.
Blah!! fully supported?
Its 63 miles . . . you need a power bar and 2 bottles of water!
I'm for independence!
Plus Jenny and sometimes a kid or two will ride this also. Two years ago we were the 2nd largest team!
Cycle for Independence
I will be doing that over the Omnium for sure, sounds like a lot more fun to me, cheaper and I get socks!
I'll buy socks
I'll buy socks for anyone who wants to join Team Hanson for the omnium. If I get enough of you together, I might even get some special Team Hanson socks printed up!
Ladd
Hey,
Are you going to be the unofficial ride leader/organizer/motivator for these group rides again? Really liked the work and effort you put in to get our team listed, organized and setup to make registration easier for us all. Want to volunteer to do that for us all again?
I'm all over it.
I'm planning on getting the ball rolling for these events just like in the past. I was trying to get through Moab before I started pimping these. We might as well make it official, I like to talk people into signing up for stuff like this :) Call me the "Chairty Ride Cheerleader"!
I already have a "team number" for Bob LeBow, and I was going to have Dan help me make a custom PDF entry form for Cycle for Independence, so that it will be really easy to fill out. I'll get that going and send out something.
(One tricky thing, I like to put out the original note, so that I can update the list of riders as people sign up. But since you wrote the original note, I won't be able to do this. Could you keep up that part?)
Team Reel will represent!
ladd
I just changed the first post to you... so edit away. :)
Thinking about it
I was originally going to do the omnium, but now I am thinking about doing this instead. If I end up doing it, I will do the metric century.
63 Miler
I will be up for the 63 miler, the custom sign-up sheet sounds great. I will wait for that to sign up on. Thank you Ladd!
63 for me
I will be doing the 63 miler as well.
Independence
I did this last year and loved it. I am in again. Thanks for organizing!
Sign up form attached
Thanks to Dan for using his full version of Acrobat to make us a "Team Reel" version of the sign-up.

We're in!
Okay count Bob and I and Michele and Harrison McArthur in on the 25 miler. Harrison is new to the club and to road biking so give him a hearty welcome when you see him! They have also both signed up for Ride Idaho this is a great start to the season! (slow but steady for some of us :) So Ladd do we fill out the forms and get them to you or just mail them in ourselves?
Excellent!
I don't have to collect anything for this one. You can either fill out the form attached to this thread and mail it in, or go to their web site "www.tvcblindidaho.org" and register on-line. I'm planning to try on-line this year, but haven't done it yet.
Should be a fun event!
Nate and I
are in! He will be doing the 63 and I will do the 25.
Cycle for independence
Robert, Cody and Sandy are all in for the 25 mile ride.
Another Map
Here is the mapmyride version. http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/id/garden%20city/232127285892031130 Thanks to Rob (not Deeble) for taking the time to plot it out. He included all but one of the water stops too. What a guy! We'll get him in a TVCC kit soon.
Seriously!!!
All it takes is $5 and a pair of socks to talk all you people out of racing!! Heck here's a really good deal . . . save the $35 and don't ride at all :-)
race pace
Is anyone planning on doing the 63 NOT at race pace?
Yes, let's form up the "tourist" group.
Jenny and I are planning to ride the "gentle 63". No race, no 500W with people yelling at you to pull through, etc. Should be fun!
maybe make that the 25
We have kid conflicts tomorrow. IF we can get a sister to help run a kid to dance practice/recital, then we'll be able to make the 25 mile ride. Otherwise we'll just have to miss out (or maybe bust out the 10!)
Sorry to jump ship on the "gentle 63" -- I was looking forward to it!
May 17th
Folks, remember that the 17th is the deadline to pre-register. You can always do a day of registration, but the 17th guarantees that Team Reel gets credit and you get the stylish socks.
Let's rock the CfI!
Ladd......
What, no crash in the first 100 meters like Bob LeBow a few years ago? :) I will sign up for the tourist 63 as well.
IN
Jamie and I are signed up and ready to roll for the 63.
Out!
Sadly, I'm out of this one after all. I thought I would be able to squeeze it in before the Cystic Fibrosis walk on Saturday. My wife informs me that we need to be there at 7 AM now to help set up. Bummer.
We have two sons with cystic fibrosis and this event is very important to us. I'm sad I won't be riding with you guys. Will someone volunteer to get Banana+Powerbar induced gas for me? Rob, Matt, Don? I need someone to step up and fulfill my role. :-)
I did convince a friend who's interested in joining the group to sign up for the event so he may be hanging close.
Enjoy, stay safe, rubber side down.
This should be interesting...
Weather calls for 41-43F and rain! Let's do this!
