Team Reel Seasonal Party, Jersey Ordering etc

Brad's picture

Hey all,

When would you like to get together down at Meridian Cycles to do a clothing order (Eric we should probably get a clothing slot on the calendar with Voler soon I would guess), get sponsorship papers, talk about next years plans, all that fun! Should we try to do it between Thanksgiving and Christmas or wait until after the holidays?

Let me know what you all think.

Brad

I'd be fine after Thanksgiving

(although a bunch of us are gone on Dec 10-13 so we'd want to schedule around that)

jme's picture

I would rather

wait til January.

eric's picture

Sooner is better

If we can squeeze it in before Christmas that'd be really nice as far as scheduling, etc. We're always crunched and it takes quite a bit of time from our meeting until clothes actually get delivered. Every year people ask if we can get them sooner (like in March) but in order to do so we're going to have to get the ball rolling right now! Start beating the bushes for some sponsors now as this is the toughest part, especially on short notice. Anybody's logos we can get added onto the clothing will be a major benefit to the club.

Before Christmas is my vote

And I would be interested in being a sponsor. Eric - let me know on that.

ladd's picture

And then Team Reel would "officially" rock!

Or is that WROK? Or WROCK?

Tony's picture

I vote after the holidays

I have a billion things to do between now and Xmas to get $ for Xmas - and it is easier to convince my wife to spend money of cycling clothes when I do not have Xmas staring me down:)

Voler Dates Set

FYI, I've got the dates set with Voler now since they do fill up. They've got an online order system that is being put into place this year so hopefully that will facilitate super easy ordering with everybody doing their own order on the Voler website. I'll provide more details on that part down the road as we get it figured out.

Order deadline is the drop dead date, so we have to get all the other stuff done beforehand. This includes all graphics/logos/sponsors, etc... everything completely done and wrapped up by that date in order to make the ship promise.

If we're not meeting until Jan, I wonder if I'll need to bump our dates out a bit to give us more time.

Order Deadline: 1/24/2010
Ship Date: 3/19/2010

Wow, time to get crackin'!

Can you give us some guidance on how to look for sponsors? Do we have a letter with the info like I remember from a few years ago?

What if we try to meet the first week of December. It's always better to schedule early and then have to fall back rather than plan late and then have no back-up plan...

eric's picture

Yeah

We've got a letter describing sponsorship a little as well as a design mockup with pricing. This will have to be updated for the season though, so hopefully we get get that worked up and send via email and the website to facilitate some progress on that front before the meeting.

Don't do it January 5th

Aaron and I are getting married that day :)

I am open to either before

I am open to either before or after Christmas.

Team Meeting

It looks to me like we will need to wait until after the new year at this point from what I have been told and what I am reading online here. I did send over a new form, did you get it Eric for sponsorship stuff? I found the letter just not the graphic thing with our current jersey on it.

eric's picture

Attached

OK, I've got the sponsorship letter as well as pricing PDF's attached to the first post above. I'll plan to send a mass email out to everyone with them again here soon, but maybe we should try to nail down a date for our meeting that I can be broadcasting at the same time. I'll start by throwing out a date.... how does Jan 11th or 12th work?

meeting times

Eric:

Tuesday December 12 works best for me, but I can make it either day. Thanks for organizing this.

Official Team Reel 2010 Meeting

Hello all,

I hope everyone is ready for the upcoming holidays and relaxing now :) We have decided the party will be 1-12-2010 so mark your calendars and we will see you at Meridian Cycles. Lets shoot for 7 PM. unless you hear otherwise (will update this post if needed). Hit up any potential sponsors in the meantime and save some cash for the new clothing. I do not think much will change from last season though.

See you then!

On the Calendar?

Hey Brad, since you started this thread, can you add the time and place so that it will show up on the calendar? I was going to put out a new appointment, but then thought it might be nice to keep it all on this thread...

m1mckinlay's picture

See you there!

Sounds great, I'll see you there. I'm looking forward to a great year of riding!

Libby's picture

Noted

The Hansens will be there (Libby and Aaron)

New Comers

I will be there and I know of a few more new guys from our subdivision who will also be there.

ladd's picture

Any idea of what's offered?

I remember Eric talking about the "special" category. Do we know what's included? Also, are enough people going to get skinsuits to be able to order this year? I was thinking of a short-sleeve, since unfortunately a lot of our cross races are so warm!

eric's picture

Voler Info

I've got a link into the ordering website we will use, but am waiting for them to finalize the pricing on the site so that it's correct from the start.

The categories are:
Short Sleeves (this includes short sleeve skin suits, vests, etc)
Bottoms (shorts, bibs, knickers, etc)
Long Sleeve (long sleeve skin suits, armwarmers, long jerseys, jackets, etc)
[thermal cyclocross skinsuits are avail as an option also this year]
Specialty Tops (tri singlets, women tri sport bra)
Accessories (gloves, skull cap, thermal bootie, lycra shoe covers)
DH/BMX - Freeride (short sleeve or long sleeve jersey)
Undershirts (sleevless, short, long, thermal availiable)

# Each product category has a combined team minimum of at least 15 units. You can track how the team is doing on the website (know whether that order of just one more will put us over the line, etc)

# You can modify and add to your order up until the order deadline... so even if people get their orders started, etc they will not finalize until 1/24/2010.

Bib/Short pads

Oh, and FYI for those that have not been happy with the voler pads in years past, I've received the new 2010 samples and am very impressed. I promise you're going to like them this year Rob! The upgraded Trilogy pad (costs an extra $5) is very plush and not at all like prior years. Get ready! :)

Trilogy Pad Description:
This was the original equipment used by Team OUCH featuring Floyd Landis and Rory Sutherland. The team was very pleased with the performance of the pad for ultra long distance training and racing. The five layer construction uses 3 different foam densities to supply the ultimate in long distance comfort. The foam is also perforated for maximum breathability. The Swiss surface fabric is designed to pull both heat and moisture away from the skin.

Looks Good

I am curious enough to give it another go. In fact it looks quite nice. I think Steve will be pleased also.

team meeting

Brad, I'll be there. Thanks for organizing this.

Reminder

I just wanted to remind everyone who ordered the new cool cycling caps that they will be at the meeting tonight. Please be prepared to pay for your cap(s). Thanks.

Voler ordering

Hey Eric, if we're not 100% what to get, do you know if we can make an order, and then add/delete from it later? Up until the deadline, of course. I'm ready to place an order now, but it's eventually going to need the final ok from the boss. And I'd rather get the numbers in the system, so we can all see if we're going to hit the minimums for everything.

eric's picture

Yes

Yup, you can add/delete stuff later. If you want to change a size or something before the deadline that's actually how you have to do it (delete it from your order and re-order the correct thing). You can submit several orders and it will combine them into one up until the deadline. So yes you can modify it up until the deadline even if it's beyond the "cart" phase and actually submitted... Go for it. :)
