LP 200

Just for fun I checked out the 10 day forcast on weather.com. I know that is a long way out to predict, but the forcast calls 77degree temps, which is great. The bad news is, it also calls for stromy (ie. rainy) weather. Maybe this will be one of those epic days in the saddle that we all talk about for years to come. Either way I am getting really excited for a great day of fun on the bike with great friends. Giddy-Up!

So much for that...

So much for that plan... looks like 40's and 50's with 100% chance of rain. Several areas say "Heavy Rain" now too. Oh boy. :)

Dress warm...

because it's gonna be cold and rainy.

Boise forecast for Saturday:
Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. High near 70. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%

Same for Sun Valley:
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 57. South wind between 5 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Dress warm, stay dry, and have fun!!!

Zoiks!

Eric beat me with the forecast. I can never get ahead of that guy!

Let's hear how it went for the two teams!

3 teams Brad!! :)

I wish our team hadn't been staged so far behind the other two as we never even saw sign of them (we started 45mins later). Would've been fun to duke it out a little closer to each other. Starting so late was a little bit demoralizing at times since we'd pull into a stop with TONS of team cars around and by the time we made the hand off it would be down to 2-3 cars (no joke). By the end we finally started catching some slower teams though and it seemed like we weren't so far off on our own. All in all, a great day of racing. I think everybody had fun! We had a bit of rain on and off throughout the day, but nothing too horrible until the final push into Sun Valley. The last stage was absolutely brutal for our team since we caught a HEAVY and cold rainstorm including headwind with full force. I couldn't stop shivering afterwards while we sat in the van with the heater cranked trying to warm up. Talking to Matt/Harris's team and they were completely done and eating dogs by the time that last rainstorm hit! Dang them!! :) We're all ready for next year though... maybe 4 teams in 2010??

Here are the three 2009 Team Reel times:
9:20:53 (no handicap) - Harris, Matt, Paul & Tom
9:42:31 (10:07:31 w/o handicap) - Matt, Tony, Terry & Steve
9:45:26 (no handicap) - Eric, Nate, Rob & Ladd

And just to compare:
9:43:23 - 2008 Team Reel (Eric, Nate, Ladd & Harris)

Team members

I think Harris' team was rounded out by Tom, the guy who did a bunch of cross races with us last year.

I rode in 2008, I think Rob took the year off. Slacker! But he's back this year, baby!

It was another fun event, I'm stoked for next year. Even with the crazy storm at the end, I'm planning to come back!

Woops! Awesome, sorry not sure what I was thinking. It is fun to hear about it though, next year I will be ready to cruise with someone.

Thanks to Jamie Reed

... also thanks again to our directeur sportif and team soigneur, Jamie! Would've been a LOT harder to get through without Jamie driving and helping us get ready for each stage. Thanks!!

Agreed!

I don't think you could find a better driver / soigneur!
