Opinion: road bike

I'm looking for recommendations on what to get for a road bike.

I have a brother who wants to buy a road bike and can spend up to $2500. He's 51 years old, but he keeps himself pretty fit. A couple years ago he bought a stumpjumper and has been riding it faithfully. He also runs quite a bit - he's done the hood to coast relay and some other stuff. He is a pretty competitive and driven person. so I think he'll take to road riding and will probably do it pretty seriously. I don't personally know too much about the road bike scene or what would be good in that price range, so any advice/opinions on what to buy, where to buy it, components, wheels, tires, etc. will be greatly appreciated.

Meridian Cycles

If he is still interested our Team sponsor Meridian cycles has a tone of bikes in that price range. He would have a few to select from and be able to fit on them really well. I would recommend a Felt from there. Those bikes ride awesome and very comfortable. I did the Lyle Pearson 200 with a Felt and totally fell in love with the ride quality of the bike. That is my 2 cents.
