Cross Crusade Races Oct 24-26

harrismc's picture

I am heading over to the Portland Area October 24-26th for some cross racing. I already have the work off and set up to go. So depending on who all wants to go we can figure out car pooling.

I would like to be in as well

I am hoping/planning on going as well with you :) Eric, Nate, Ladd, Robb anyone ?

ladd's picture

I'd love to go

but I'm probably only 50/50 at the moment. I've put in on the calendar, now I'm working to make sure that weekend is free.

nate's picture

Sounds like fun

I'll see if I can make it work.

eric's picture

Maybe

I'll check it out and let you guys know soon.

harrismc's picture

Looking good

Looks like me might have a crew heading over there. Lets try to get a count in the next couple of weeks so we can start looking for sleeping and ride accommodations.

Changes to Calendar

So this turns out to be the same weekend as Sun Valley now that Billy changed his dates. I am still up for going to Oregon though personally.

harrismc's picture

Me To

I saw that on the calender but I still plan on going to Oregon.

ladd's picture

I'd pick Oregon

over Sun Valley. SV is always fun, and I like how the community comes out, but I still want to try out the Oregon race.

eric's picture

No go...

Turns out I can't make it :( Ammon's birthday is on Sunday and some other goo has also come up.

Alter-ego just waiting to burst out...

So if this is the Halloween event, then we need to get started on the costumes! Anybody have any good ideas? (I'm not sure how I can dress up like my hero -- Rob!)

This guy looks good:

Whoa!

Halloween event with costumes?! Enough said, count me in.

ladd's picture

Mr. Potato Head

I've got to get Jenny to make me a Mr. Potato Head costume. I'll be the spud from Idaho!

tom's picture

I'm leaning towards it

and we have family in Portland and bringing my whole crew so we are driving the family truckster.

harrismc's picture

Lets get a count

It looks like for Oregon we have
Ladd
Harris
Rob
Brad
Nate? (were you being serious)
Tom (who is staying at somebodies house)

Let me know if any body else is coming. I will be booking the room here soon so I need to know what we need to look for.

Brad's picture

Not sure now for me

Not sure if I will be going at this point.

nate's picture

Probably not

I was serious, but it's not looking like I can make it now. I'll have to get a costume going for one of the local races.

tom's picture

I may need to pool too

The family option is looking complex. (kids in school on Friday, blah blah blah) so I may need to hitch a ride.

Plan for Portland

Yeah, lets get an idea of who is going and how they plan to get there. If we can get enough to go together, we can cut the costs significantly. It would be nice soon to figure who wants to go, who has the best/cheapest vehicle, how many for a hotel room, and then book a room.

Cross Crusades Plan

Here we go
Harris
Rob
Ladd
Matthew McMullin
Tom?

Last call for any body else?
Wednesday we will get the Hotel. I have a car or truck we will use depending if everyone goes. Gas will be figured out and a deposit will be taken. At the end, the remainder of it will be given back. The caravan will be leaving Friday morning around 9am (if we can leave sooner then we will). More are welcome to come. This is just a list of who I have heard of so far.

ladd's picture

Good to go

I originally wasn't planning to take a whole day Friday, but I've just cleared it with the boss and my employer. Let's go!

90% IN 4 Cross Crusade

I have floated the idea by my boss and am planning on going. I just need his O.K. to be certain. It sounds like Harris, Ladd, I believe Tom, myself, and whomever else is in should get together and plan the details.

ladd's picture

Now Rob races "4 cross"? Cool!

Dang 4X'ers using a similar name... :)

rob deeble's picture

100% In Like Flynn for not 4 Cross :)

I am good to go for sure! let's plan.

Booked a room at Best Western

I Just booked a room at the Best Western in Astoria and I was able to talk her into a bit of a discount, Giddy Up! It turns out they have a pretty good continental breakfast.

This is going to be awesome

I was checking on Map Quest and it looks like from here to Astoria is around 515 miles. I think it will be around 200 dollars in gas for round trip. We have 5 people going and chipping in. Just to give you guys an idea of what we are looking at. Tom and Ladd I do not have your phone numbers for some reason in my phone. Can you let me know what they are?

tom's picture

Phone

841-1736. Call me anytime, baby!

Harris

Harris,
I still have your gear from Tamarack. I am going to Camel's back for Cross practice Tuesday p.m. I could get them to you then if you are there OR we could work out a meeting place. Let me know. Fuller

ladd's picture

Do I qualify?

I just paid for the Masters 35+ ... I'd better check on that, I can't remember if I'm really old enough for that category... :)

Anyway, let's go on a cross crusade!

Portland trip

Make sure at least one of you takes some pictures on your excellent Portland adventure and then posts them. I finally have my home computer fixed and so will now be able to download our July pool party pics.

Best of luck to each of you.
