17th Annual Brundage Mountain Bike Festival

Anybody thinking about hitting up the Brundage race this weekend? I'm probably 50/50 on it, but if others are headed up then that will likely sway me to do it. :)

Looks like they've changed a couple things. It's a Le Mans start now. Also, after the usual XC race on Sat they've added a "BOMBERMAN SUPER D" that runs from the top to bottom ala Bogus Banzai style... that could be fun too if you still had energy after the XC race that is.

Anyway, just wondering if anybody is thinking about it. We've got a couple open rooms at our place so staying over on Fri and/or Sat nights is no prob. Just let me know.

Saturday Ride!! (7/12)

OK, so I'm wussing out on the race, but we're going to get the next best thing scheduled up... a big long fun mtb ride. Anybody care to join us? We're thinking of leaving semi-early... 8ish and being out for a good 3-4hrs+ of non-race-pace fun so we're good and flogged upon finish.

I'm thinking something like:
Camelsback up Hulls to Corrals to Scotts, up 8th street to Ridge Road down Dry Creek to Hard Guy junction back over Corrals the right way (maybe down and back up Bob's here if we're feeling crazy still) then back down to Camels via the usual Freeway/Red Cliffs.

I did something similar last year (except I missed the Hard Guy junction and went out to the road and back in again at the corrals parking lot) and it was close to 30 miles total.

Sounds epic

Count me in since Brundage is out.

Dry Creek!

Awesome ride today. Too bad we didn't have more people. Only complaint is that somebody needs to bring some hedge trimmers down Dry Creek and give everything a good whack... some spots are so overgrown you just have to point your bike, close your eyes and hopefully stay on the trail. I got an armful of big fat thorns on one section. Somebody has gone up and done some work in some spots on Dry Creek though as several places were freshly improved and fixed up with freshly cut trail. There were several downed trees that have been recently cut and removed for smooth sailing for the most part. The loop was 32miles and took us 4.5hrs of ride time.

Also, incase anybody is wondering... we did stop to pay tribute to Nate's gate as we rode by the top of Hard Guy. :)

Sounds Fun

It sounds like it was an awesome ride. I would have loved to go. Did you take any pictures?
