Wild Rockies Presents
The Janna Brimmer Memorial XC SUNDAY, June 8
For more race details and registration information click here:
This newer event is our Title sponsor, Brad Duke's salute to his hometown of Salmon, and a special tribute to the late Janna Brimmer, Salmon's most-beloved mountain biker and all-around athlete. This is beautiful country and one of the most scenic river courses on the Wild Rockies circuit. There is a 9am fun run on a 10K loop, so get up early and get your trail run ON!. The run is followed by the mountain bike cross-country that uses the same 10K loop that starts and finishes near town and has some really fun singletrack and two-track sections along the Salmon River.You can look forward to some short climbs and descents, this is a POWER riders dream course. All cross-country riders start at 11:45am with 12-under Trailblazers going one-half lap, beginners riding two, sports three, and PRO/experts four . Awards to follow at the start/finish.
Also Saturday afternoon, features a really cool, 2-run format mountain bike DOWNHILL race on one of the most interesting courses that you'll ever see, filled with ramps, berms and even an old car to ride over. Each rider will get two runs, with your best two combined to yield your score. Downhill practice and free shuttles will be available on Saturday from 10am to 3:00pm. Saturday's practice starts at 8:30am, with racing to begin at 3:00pm.
YOU MAY REGISTER ON-SITE FOR ANY OF THESE EVENTS, STARTING AT 8AM ON BOTH DAYS!!!

FYI from Erica Feider:

Hello Everyone;
I've been part of the Main Street Mile since we started the event 5 years ago. As you may know, the purpose of the event is to raise awareness and provide free prostate cancer screenings in our community. Last year we screened 622 men in our community. I approached our race director about doing something special to honor Gar this year and Carol Severa and I discussed a way for people to participate and honor Gar. I am hoping you can help spread the word to those who might be interested.

The Main Street Mile will be forming a "Friends of Gar" group to honor Gar Hackney, who recently lost his battle with prostate cancer. We would like to extend an invitation to those of you who knew Gar to participate and honor his memory as an avid competitor, athlete and community member. Gar was an instrumental member in the running, cycling and triathlon communities and touched many lives . To be a part of "Friends of Gar", simply do one of the following: If registering online, in the box marked coupon code, enter GARH. If registering via paper entry form, simply list "Friends of Gar"in the section marked Team Name. Nothing further is needed and you are free to compete in any wave you like. Or you can register for multiple waves ($10 each) and, as a group, run in the Mayor's Mile for Everyone. If you have any questions, please contact Bandanna Running and Walking at 386-9017. Online registration is available on the Spondoro website. www.mainstreetmile.org

SWICA notes are sent at irregular intervals to about 1000 cycling geeks in the Northwest and Intermountain West but mostly folks from Southwest Idaho and the nearby area. Nothing about the information in here is guaranteed accurate, though I'll try and get things right. If you would like your personal e-mail removed from the SWICA notes distribution list hit reply and ask. SWICA Notes are intended to be used to share information on cycling events (races/clinics/charity rides/area club information of general interest and related items) and not for selling bike gear. Decisions on whether to forward content received are based on the subjective determinations of SWICA's manager and list maintainer and whether I get to it. If you have something you want distributed or any complaints hit reply and have at it.
