Twilight Criterium Info

Saw this in the Boise Weekly. It's still the same size around... but definitely shifted a bit. It will be strange running in the other direction too as it looks like it's clockwise this year.

It's getting a bit dusty downtown with all the construction, so the Wells Fargo Twilight Criterium will have a new course this year.

The popular downtown bike race, set for July 19, won't be able to loop around the under-construction Capital building. Word came from the Downtown Boise Association, sponsor Wells Fargo and race director Mike Cooley of George's Cycles.

The new course will still use much of the previous footprint. Now, it's like this: The start will be on Ninth Street just south of Main. Riders will go south on Ninth, then west on Grove. Riders will go north on 10th, east on Bannock and then south on Ninth back to the finish.

Let's face it: the crashes are the fun part for spectators. We recommend camping out at Ninth and Grove.
