Cyclocross Crash Reel: 2011

Ah, yes! Another season, another crash reel. Unfortunately, when you wear the cameras, you tend to capture your own mistakes more often. But, the crowd did catch some really good ones too. Enjoy.

Eagle Island Cyclocross Race #3 2011

Sorry I am behind on this post. The race was awesome. Thank You to all for your support and getting me involved in this. I had an amazing time. Can't wait to see what 2012 brings. I'm ready to go. I put this video together of the race. There are pictures and video of others but many of me. My family is still in training on how to document a race. I got a Go Pro for X-Mas and hope to be able to add some cool stuff to the site as well as help Chris with additions. I am still learning. This is not as good as Chris' videos but like I said I am still learning. This is my first video.

Eagle Island #2

Awesome day to race. 33 degrees or so and sunny. I was glad that I wasn’t sick like the last race. I was feeling pretty good. I was definitely more nervous for this race because of the expectations I put on myself.

Beautiful course. Harris had a need for speed, and it showed. I really liked burning down the hill into the sweeping right turn - genius!

My race was really fun and hard, much better than I'd expect given that I probably finished last in the A race. Here's how it unfolded:

Here's how it all went down for me. Read the whole post to get the full story: First of all, the new single front-ring setup for my cyclocross bike is all it's cracked up to be! 42 x 11–32 cassette 10 speed SRAM is the out-‘n-out! Quick gear changes. Never having to feather any front shifts. I never felt like I didn't have enough gears for any situation and the rig ran rock solid. Bike Pic Link Besides the Bridgestone, this is the best bike I've ever built!

I had no idea what to expect going into my first cylcocross race. I had heard stories of how hard it is but still wasn't sure. Well the stories are true, it is physicaly draining but a lot of fun. It was an awesome day to race. The sun was out and it really wasn't as cold as I thought it would be. The conditions were just right for a first timer. Besides being sick the two days prior to the race I was able to mix it up with some other riders and ended up doing pretty well for my first race. It was good to push myself as hard as possible and wonder if I can keep going.
